Welcome to the 4th edition of Cool Currents!

We've got several exciting updates to share, and one in particular stands out.

In June, Artyc was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. This prestigious recognition is awarded to just 100 companies worldwide that are breaking boundaries and driving progress in both business and society. We’re incredibly proud to be among this group, as it underscores our dedication to modernizing the cold chain and tackling global challenges. As part of this program, Artyc will be collaborating closely with the WEF's Centre for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics. Together with our cohort peers and the Centre’s leaders, we’re gearing up to shape the future of supply chains, making them more resilient and equitable.

For those new to Artyc, our flagship product, the Medstow Micro, is transforming healthcare. It enables remote collection for biomarker and diagnostic tests, allowing for the gathering of specimens outside of traditional clinical settings. This innovation significantly reduces travel costs, anxiety, and logistical hurdles, particularly for those in remote, underserved, or immobile communities. The Medstow Micro won best product at DIA this year, demonstrating the industry’s recognition of the need for reliable cooling.

With the support of the WEF, our program peers, and the incredible Artyc community, we’re determined to continue advancing the cold chain, one degree at a time.

Thank you all so much for being a part of our journey—it means more than you can imagine!

Behind the Scenes
Rebranding to Micro to better serve our customers

Say hello to the Medstow Micro, previously known as the Medstow Mini. This name change isn’t just cosmetic—it signifies our ongoing dedication to evolving alongside the industry’s needs.

The Medstow Micro, which supports microsampling, allows Sponsors, CROs, and wellness providers to seamlessly "travel" with their samples, ensuring top-notch integrity throughout the journey. It retains all the beloved features of its predecessor, including active temperature stabilization, live data insights, and an intuitive app for effortless monitoring.

Winning best product at DIA

The Medstow Micro won the Best in Show New Product Competition at the DIA 2024 Global Annual Meeting! Check out the announcement from DIA here.

Step inside our Spring retreat

We recently returned from an inspiring Spring retreat in Santa Cruz, where we blended strategic planning with fun team-building activities. Check out our latest blog to catch all the details and see what makes these retreats a cornerstone of our culture.

We completed our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for the Medstow Micro

LCAs are crucial for identifying and mitigating the environmental impacts of products and services. In an upcoming piece, we’ll walk you through what an LCA is and the steps to conduct one. Then, as a follow-up, we’ll be sharing the results of the LCA we had carried out for the Medstow Micro.

Industry Pulse

In June, we attended both the DIA 2024 Global Annual Meeting and BIO 2024. Between the two conferences, these were some of our key takeaways:

  • Industry vets see substantial growth potential in direct-to-patient and direct-from-patient shipping.
  • We had meetings with some of the largest bio, medical, and logistics providers in the world. Nearly all recognized the need for data generation and embedding track & trace capabilities directly into packaging.
  • Both the EPA and FDA emphasize the importance of public health and data monitoring in their mandates, aligning perfectly with the cross-section of Artyc’s solutions.
