Spring Retreat 2024: Turning Vision into Reality

Introduction

What does it really take to bring a vision to life? At Artyc, it’s about team members from every part of the business collaborating towards a common goal, and sustaining that effort over time — with ample opportunities to decompress and reconnect. This past May, our team gathered in Santa Cruz to do just that, strengthening our ways of working and advancing our goals through focused work and meaningful breaks. Here’s a look at how we continue to take steps forward, focusing on practical outcomes and genuine team engagement.

Building on our foundations

Last year, we introduced the core values that define our work and culture at Artyc. Continuing from where we left off, this Spring retreat was an opportunity to revisit these values and actively live them in our daily interactions and strategic decisions. Below, we highlight how each value was demonstrated through specific retreat activities, reinforcing our commitment to these principles and directly impacting how we work and grow together.

Connect Authentically

Unstructured Time: During the retreat, we made sure to keep plenty of unscripted time. Whether it was team dinners, morning runs, or a competitive game of bowling, these moments let us drop the formalities and just enjoy being together. It’s in these relaxed settings that we really get to know each other.

Continually Evolve

Feedback Workshop: We dedicated a good chunk of our retreat to mastering the art of feedback. In a hands-on workshop, we practiced giving and receiving feedback in ways that build up rather than tear down. We learned, we practiced, and we left better equipped to support each other’s growth back at work.

Realize Change

Product Workflow Analysis: A major focus was our product workflow analysis. We mapped out our entire process, identified bottlenecks, and brainstormed ways to improve. This wasn’t just busy work; it was about making our daily tasks smoother and more effective, directly enhancing our productivity and service quality.

Reflections and Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, the clarity and momentum we gained from the retreat are already shaping our path. We’re not just planning next steps; we’re actively stepping into them. With a solid team that’s aligned and ready, we’re excited to tackle upcoming challenges and continue driving innovation in the cold chain industry.
